About the BMIP - Best Mobile Innovation Pakistan Award™  

The Best Mobile Innovation Pakistan Award is an annual competition to promote innovations, new entrepreneurship as well as increase implementation of wireless related technology in Pakistan and in the world!

The core of BMIP Award is to promote new entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in Pakistan, encouraging young talented people in Pakistan to take their innovations further; to create new companies, delivering recognition for Pakistan based technology and innovation around the world. Your idea can become Your Company! Best Mobile Innovation Pakistan Award™ is providing awards and professional resources including management, R&D, sales and marketing as well as funding, to support projects of exceptional promise that meet the criteria described in the Criteria section. So not only awards but also support to make you an entrepreneur and company owner!

Types of Projects We Are Seeking

The Best Mobile Innovation Pakistan Award seeks to identify, further develop and fund the best innovations using wireless related technology. Innovations need to be "Made in Pakistan"; innovated and developed by individuals, group of people or team, university research groups or other non-profit organizations based in Pakistan or by Pakistanis living abroad. Project proposals should demonstrate significant advancement in the field of wireless-related technology or usage.

The game is open; innovation can be technology, concept, products or business models used in the wireless i.e. mobile industry. It can be related to networks, devices, connectivity, software, hardware, content, applications, usage, mobile marketing, mobile payments, education, social issues or any other related are. The innovation presented should have the potential for replication and large-scale market access in Pakistan or internationally.

Mobile Monday Pakistan  

The idea behind the phenomenon that is Mobile Monday is to bring people concerned with mobile solutions and technology together. Since its launch in Helsinki, Finland, in the year 2000, it has grown into a global community with its chapters active in 60 cities worldwide. The community has attracted industry visionaries, mobile developers and other influential individuals. Virtual and live networking events enable sharing of ideas, best practices, and allow networking opportunities. Mobile Monday’s objectives are geared towards an open and mobile internet with real broadband that opens up a host of possibilities. It aims to encourage innovation, facilitate networking and help local companies participate in international initiatives. Moreover, it also aims to present innovative vision, trends, studies and forecasts from the mobile market place, as well as contribute to the education of the broader public through its publications, online presence and media partnerships.

CIIT COMSATS  

The COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), whic received its Charter from the Federal Government in August 2000, as a Degree Awarding Institue (DAI) in the public sector. The CIIT is now slated for upgradation as a university by the name of ' Comsats University' through an Act of the Parliament. Being federally established institute, the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), is a fully flourishing ranking instituion of higher learning in the country, with seven functional Campuses in cities of Islamabad, Abbottabad, Lahore, Wah, Attock, Sahiwal and Wehari, while six more campuses at Gujrat, Toba Tek Singh, Karachi, Larkana, Quetta & Peshawar are in advanced planning stage The present student strenght is around 16,000 with faculty corpus of more than 1,600. The CIIT has already produced 8,117 graduates up to Spring 2009, who are serving the nation in the various callings. CIIT has been consistently ranked among the top seven institutions of higher education since 2006, as per certifications notified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). While in terms of research output, CIIT has been ranked at number 5 among institutions of higher education numbering more than 114 in the country during 2005-2007.
